The choir “Tune Up!” of the Jazz & Rock Schools Freiburg stands for a lively repertoire that spans the last 9 decades. Established jazz standards such as “Moon River”, well-known funk numbers such as “Sir Duke” or current pop songs such as “Fix You” form the musical framework. With about 40 active singers, the choir has recently been heard at events such as the Freiburg Choir Night, the Freiburg Lake Festival or the Nostalgic Mass in the Stühlinger.
The choir is led by Tobias Jäck, who is musically active as a singer, beatboxer, artist and choir director. As part of his studies, he has already been able to sing in the Berlin Philharmonic and in the concert hall “Kapella” in St. Petersburg. He is currently preparing his stage debut as a solo artist, which will take place at the end of the year.
Joa Magnolia has been working as a performance artist for over ten years – mainly as a stilt performer at festivals, trade fairs, weddings, city festivals as well as in the theatre and opera. She designs all her costumes herself, attaches great importance to individual character development and loving detail work – for example through playful elements such as confetti, wish manifestations or fortune cookie rituals.
