The Keidel Therme is Freiburg’s thermal bath and wellness destination in the Mooswald. The natural thermal water comes from its own spring and supplies the indoor and outdoor pools with mineral-rich water. In addition to the thermal spa landscape, you can expect a spacious sauna area, wellness and massage offers, aqua fitness courses as well as health and prevention offers.

The Keidel Therme combines four areas: relaxation, health, exercise and adventure.
The natural thermal mineral water from our own spring forms the basis for relaxing hours in the thermal spa landscape. The offer is complemented by a versatile sauna area, professional wellness treatments as well as health and exercise courses that promote body and well-being in equal measure. A special feature of the Keidel Therme are also regular adventure events such as the popular “Keidel in the Full Moon” evenings. They create a special atmosphere with live music, show programs, special infusions and culinary offerings and make a visit to the thermal baths a special experience.
In this way, the Keidel Therme combines relaxation, active health promotion and extraordinary events in one place.
The Keidel Therme is a place for all those who want to take a break from everyday life and do something good for body and mind. Whether you are looking for relaxation, actively do something for your health, regenerate after sports or experience special moments with your loved ones – you are welcome to join us. Every guest visits the Keidel Therme for a different reason: Some want to relax in the natural thermal mineral water, others use our health and exercise courses such as Aqua Fitness, Rebalax or Back Fit to promote their mobility and well-being. Athletes appreciate the thermal spa for regeneration after physical exertion, while couples and friends enjoy our wellness offers, saunas or special events such as “Keidel im Vollmond” for shared experiences. The offer is supplemented by massages and other wellness treatments. In this way, the Keidel Therme combines relaxation, health, exercise and adventure under one roof and offers the right offer for every guest.
The thermal water of the Keidel Therme comes from a natural spring and contains various dissolved minerals. The composition and the pleasant water temperatures create ideal conditions for relaxation and well-being. Many guests appreciate bathing in the warm thermal water for regeneration after sporting activity or as a break from everyday life.
Thermal water has been used in balneology for centuries. Scientific studies show that warm mineral water can contribute to relaxation and promote subjective well-being. Depending on the mineralization and area of application, positive effects on mobility and regeneration are also investigated.
Together with the University Medical Center Freiburg , the overheating bath study is being carried out, among other things, which investigates the influence of thermal water on depression. In addition, Furtwangen University is conducting the FLOAT intervention study at the Keidel Therme. This researches the effectiveness of breathwork in thermal water to alleviate long and post-Covid symptoms.
