Every month, numerous lost and found items are left behind at the Keidel Therme Freiburg – from towels to bikinis to bathing shoes.
The amount is surprising: around three bathtubs full of clothing and textiles come together month after month.
If the products are not collected during the legally prescribed storage periods, they find their way to Ms. Ortlieb in the Münstertal.
The textiles are carefully sorted, checked and cleaned by our team. Afterwards they travel on – to the idyllic Münstertal, in the middle of the Black Forest.
Beate Ortlieb lives and works there, who dedicates herself with heart and soul and craftsmanship to the task of creating something very special from these found objects.
Beate Ortlieb is not a classic fashion designer – she is a passionate seamstress, environmentally conscious and creative tinkerer with an eye for detail. Purely by hand and completely alone, without machine production or outside help, she transforms the old fabrics into high-quality, sustainable and, above all, unique products.
She uses not only the lost and found items from the Keidel Therme, but also 100% old yarns from her neighbourhood in the Münstertal – all locally and in a resource-saving way. The fabrics are given a completely new appearance through loving embroidery, new cuts and creative combinations – and become unique pieces with a history.

The finished pieces return to their place of origin: to our foyer. There we present a lovingly compiled selection of the latest creations from BoMo Design – exclusively available from us.
