The new holistic experience at the Keidel Therme
Immerse yourself in the power of breath and the energy of ice – with our new course format “Ice Bathing & Holistic Breathwork”. This holistic experience combines conscious breathing with the healing effect of cold – guided by Konstantin Tafill, certified Buteyko breathing trainer and experienced ice master, as well as Nik Linder, multiple world record holder in freediving, author and internationally sought-after trainer for breathing techniques and mental strength.
Dr. Konstantin Pavlovich Buteyko (1923–2003) was a Ukrainian physician and scientist who in the 1950s developed the Buteyko Method named after him – a breathing technique to normalize hyperventilation, especially for the treatment of asthma and other respiratory diseases
In a supervised group atmosphere, participants learn how to optimally prepare their body and mind for ice bathing through targeted breathing techniques.
The method combines holistic breathwork with the soothing and challenging effects of cold – with lasting effects on health, well-being and mental clarity.

BREATHING is the key to health – learn to master it and you will be in control of your life.
Dr. Konstantin Buteyko

Konstantin Tafill is a trained Buteyko breathing trainer and experienced companion in the field of cold work and breathing awareness. With his calm and clear manner, he creates a safe space in which each person is picked up individually and guided through the experience – always with an eye on personal boundaries and resources.
Nik Linder is a multiple world record holder in freediving, author and internationally sought-after trainer for breathing techniques and mental strength. For many years, he has been accompanying people on their way to more body awareness, inner peace and mental control – with a special focus on the power of breath and the effect of cold.

The courses are aimed at both beginners and experienced participants in the field of ice bathing or breathwork. No previous knowledge is required – just openness, curiosity and a willingness to engage in new experiences.
“COLD and BREATHING combined make the BODY strong – a natural way to HEALING.”
Dr. Konstantin Buteyko, Developer of the Buteyko Method

In a world that is spinning faster and faster, it is important to consciously take time for yourself.
Our Aqua Relax offer at the Keidel Therme offers you exactly that: a soothing combination of gentle movement, mindfulness and relaxation – embedded in the calming atmosphere of our warm thermal water.

Gentle movement in the water – ideal for body and mind
The flowing, slow exercises in the water are particularly easy on the joints and at the same time promote mobility, blood circulation and general well-being. The combination of movement and conscious breathing helps to release tension and clear your head.

Particularly suitable for pregnant women
Aqua Relax is also a wonderful way for pregnant women to do something good for themselves and their bodies. The warm water relieves the joints and spine, while the gentle movements help to relieve tension and strengthen the muscles – without being overwhelmed. At the same time, the quiet atmosphere offers space for conscious connection with one’s own body and the unborn child.

Thermal water with natural healing power
The mineral-rich water of the Keidel Therme additionally supports the effect of the programme. It has an anti-inflammatory effect, promotes regeneration and gives a feeling of lightness and security.

A little break from everyday life
Whether after a hard day’s work or simply in between: Aqua Relax is your personal break from everyday life. The combination of water, exercise and silence is like a short holiday for body and soul – and without packing your suitcase.
Conclusion:
Aqua Relax is more than just a treatment – it’s an invitation to treat yourself. Whether you are pregnant, longing for relaxation or simply looking for a gentle form of exercise: Treat yourself to this soothing time-out in the water.
James MacMillian developed this special form of water therapy in 1950 in the bathing hall of the Halliwick School in London (England). In this form of therapy, no buoyancy agents are used (at most for stabilization). The concept is ideal for people with severe or multiple disabilities to promote trunk stability, as fall prevention in old age or as a specific therapeutic movement therapy. Halliwick is an active therapy in which individual muscle groups can be trained and their endurance improved. Regular water therapies have been shown to improve balance and stability.
Phase 1 – Build trust
The first phase is all about building confidence in yourself and not being afraid of moving in the water. Through controlled breathing, you learn in the first phase to respond to the flow stimuli of the water.
Phase 2 – Balance control
Different postures and positions are trained and maintained via the torso. Exercises such as turning in the water or rotation exercises stabilize the musculoskeletal system.
Phase 3 – Body control
In the last phase, the focus is on independent movement in the water. Without aids and only through the water buoyancy, action in every situation in the water is learned.
Aqua Relax is a special form of body relaxation in the water that everyone can participate in. No previous knowledge is necessary for this. The guest floats on the surface of the water, largely relieved of his own body weight. In this way, he/she can enjoy the full attention and mindfulness of the practitioner.
